The global management consultancy organisation McKinsey & Company have recently moved locations, launching their new office to the Post Building, London. This recent move has been spurred on by the company’s venture to offer its clients further “profession-leading capabilities in digital transformation, advanced analytics, capability building and design.”
The Post Building is along Museum Street in Holborn, London, (see offices in Clerkenwell) and is known as a site for expanding knowledge, being home to many different organisations in the fields of academia, science, research and culture. This particular new office, designed by MoreySmith architects, was developed with the purpose of encouraging an uptake of work with clients, doubling the space for clients to meet and discuss operations with the McKinsey team.
McKinsey & Co. was first established in the UK 60 years ago, and has become the global strategy consulting firm. The company was created in the US, and established an office in the country’s capital city as a way of expanding its services to reach the European market. Since coming to the UK, the world-renowned consultancy firm has held a client list from some of the best corporations within the country, and has even worked with Britain’s government.
Before launching its new office to the Post Building in Holborn, London, this section of the McKinsey & Company team operated from the capital’s City of Westminster area, and was based in that location for 25 years. The company have since decided it was time for a change, which thus spurred the exciting new launch of the team’s Post Building offices.
Vivian Hunt, Managing Partner to McKinsey’s UK and Ireland operations, has commented on this recent move, stating the following:
“We are delighted to be in our new home. The move to the Post Building signifies our continues commitment to London and the UK, 60 years after we first established a presence here. This office provides us with the perfect environment to foster creativity and collaboration. Most importantly, our new office will help us continue to attract and retain the best talent and bring cutting-edge insights to our clients.”
